Driving was my life, after
injury and a dog, training
is my passion!

If anyone could be said to have transport in the blood it’s me. You could almost say that my life path was set before I was born, my grandfather being a lorry driver, then my father too.   A father I’ve always been very close to, my earliest memories involved trucks in one way or another, my summer holidays, and some school days skived off were spent in the passenger seat of his truck travelling the U.K. and Europe.
 

My first driving job was driving local buses here in West Wales, before leaving for London and the next few years driving around London, the UK and Europe making peoples holidays driving coaches from some of turn countries best companies.
Then at 25 I made the longed for move to trucks working for an Irish company. I then spent the next 20 years driving a huge variety of trucks for people from household names to one man bands to 23 different countries across Europe for companies based in Ireland, the U.K. and the Netherlands. I was lucky enough to drive many of the best trucks on the road for the best people.
 

That all came to an abrupt halt in February 2020 when I was in a serious car crash. I was flown to hospital in the air ambulance, dying basically, my family were told to expect the worst. I’m a stubborn bugger though so I didn't give up that easily. I woke up from a 5 week coma in a hospital bed, unable to walk, in the depths of Covid with most of my memory missing from the last 20 years. The next couple of years involved teaching myself to walk again and generally just reassembling my life. My HGV/PSV licence was revoked on medical grounds so I had to find a new path.

 

I couldn't decide what to do, I couldn't imagine not driving but with my huge life change I also wanted to gain a good quality of life - which for me meant getting a dog! So I started a training business, something I could do from home and knew the subject matter inside out. I inadvertently discovered a whole new passion! In past couple of years I’ve built a very successful business off the back of 15 years of social media work and vlogging as a lorry driver, which has now been overtaken by Albert's videos (!!). It’s a job I love, which I hope comes across in my training.  I’m very passionate about this industry and always try to put that across.

As well as Driver CPCs, I’m now also able to offer Transport Manager CPCs which is a very exciting development!
